9U FAQ's

When does the season end and start?  The season start is dependent on weather (and this year COVID-19 protocol) but the goal is to start the first week of May.  The regular season ends the last week of June.  Playoffs start first week of July and is single game elimination.

When are the nights of play?

In the past practices have been held on Tuesday and Thursdays. Games were stacked on Sundays, start times are 12pm, 2pm, 4pm. Tournament has usually been in June, coinciding with Beaumont Town and Country Daze. Details for the 2021 season are TBD.

Where do we play?  All games are in Beaumont and you play only other Beaumont teams.  Practices are held at either: Bellevue East, West or Beau Meadow.  Games are played at Four Seasons #4.

How many players on a field?  There are 9 players on a field with each regular baseball position.  The pitcher stands beside or behind the coach that is pitching.

Do the kids pitch?  No they do not. Coaches give the kids four pitches.  If they strikeout the first time, they get to use the tee, every other at bat is an out.

Do they use hardballs?  Only the Pre-Competitive division will use hardballs.

Can Girls Play?  Absolutely. This season BMBA intends to field an all-girls team that will play in the Beaumont 9U league but may have opportunity to play in All-Girls tournaments (subject to availability)

What does Pre-Competitive mean? In 2020, a Pre-competitive Division was created to work on more advanced skills. This team did not play in the Beaumont league, their games were dependent on coaching staff finding tournaments and exhibition games.
